Chairman Brian K. Lee has represented the Active Firefighters on the Board since 2001. Appointed by Mayor Fenty as the Interim Fire/EMS Chief for the District of Columbia, Lee has more than 20 years of experience as a DC firefighter including Battalion Fire Chief of Special Operations and Acting Deputy Chief.
Chairman Lee serves on the boards of the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on EMS and the DC Council Judiciary Committee’s EMS Commission. He was the Chairman of the Board for the Firefighters Association. Lee has earned several awards and certificates, most notably, the Medal of Valor from the DC Fire and EMS Department in 1991 and 1992.
Raised in the District of Columbia, Chairman Lee continues to be involved in the community and has his Master of Science degree in Executive Management from Johns Hopkins University. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Labor Law and Workers Rights and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Procurement and Contract Negotiations.
